As part of the yearly improvements of the MPF-RBR Pasig facility, a swimming pool was constructed early this year.
General Manager Marwynne Rivera said in an interview that the pool was built to help boost the exercise program of the facility. MPF-RBR already has a weight training gym, while tae-bo classes are held here twice weekly.
“The pool is meant to provide another exercise option for the RBR trainees, MPF patients and the facility’s staff,” he added.
While it is meant to enhance the facility’s physical activities program, Marwynne said that they may not initially offer swimming lessons.
“You need an instructor for that, but that’s not a remote possibility,” he added.
The swimming pool is the standard lap pool length, but is only 4 feet deep. It is expected to be fully operational towards the end of July when water services provider Manila Water installs the line that will supply the water to the pool.
The pool is also part of the first phase of development in the facility, along the improvement in the parking lot and provisions for maintenance.
